Who is Fish Out of water?

Fish Out Of Water was one of South Australia’s busiest fish and chip shops for over 20 years, but it was struggling at the time Chris Thompson bought it two years ago. With significant work to revive it, it is now the busiest it has ever been, and was even awarded SA’s Best Fish and Chip Shop of 2019 & 2021.

Fish Out Of Water’s branding has been a key component in its revival and rapid growth. Firstly, the logo and design needed a complete overhaul to represent the calibre of the business, and secondly, their new brand needed to be rapidly and ongoingly deployed across everything from shop windows and menus, to gift cards and magazine ads.

Sometimes we jokingly curse they always come up with a better idea than us. We have a vision but don’t know how to complete it, whereas they can turn that vision into something that always works a treat. Out of the 40-odd projects they have done for us, we have only had to go back for revision once.”
